Blessed
Subject: Tristan from the film King Arthur
Opened: 30 July 2006
I love the legend of Tristan. The character in King Arthur who carries that name hardly has anything to do with it. Nontheless, I think he was fabulous! Usually, I don't cry over films ever, but when he dies I make an exception.
Eyes Used to Wonders and Beauty
Subject: The Sindarin princes of the Tawarwaith
Opened: 4 February 2005
This fanlisting is dedicated to the characters Oropher, Thranduil and Legolas from J.R.R. Tolkiens works. These three elves do not appear together in one book, but each in another of the extensive Middle-Earth history. So, in a way it's strange I instantly chose each member of that line as my favourite character. Unfortunately, none of them receive the attention they deserve or - worse - they are regarded as weak characters. In my opinion, the contrary is true, so I just had to open a little shrine for them. In consequence, this fanlisting has become also a regular site with information and extras.
Uncas
Subject: Uncas from "The Last of the Mohicans"
Opened: 17 October 2008
Although based on the books by James Fenimore Cooper, this fanlisting also includes the above mentioned character Uncas in movie adaptations. He is *not* the last of the mohicans, although people love to get confused by this, but the "pre-last" (dies before his father, Chingachgook). In my opinion, he is portrayed as a gentle, caring, strong and brave person, showing us ideals we all long for. His story, especially his premature death, can be viewed as a metaphor for reckless destruction of good by petty evil - not very original maybe, but, in this case, leaves an exceedingly strong impression.
